UOB Islamic Asset Management Sendirian Berhad (“UOBIAM”) was established in April 2017, and was formed to serve as the Islamic Centre of Excellence for the UOB Asset Management Group’s (“UOBAM Group”) Islamic Asset Management business throughout its regional presence. Malaysia was chosen to house this business due to its established Islamic legal and regulatory framework.
UOBIAM is a wholly owned subsidiary of UOB Asset Management (Malaysia) Berhad (“UOBAM(M)”). UOBAM(M) in turn is a subsidiary of UOB Asset Management Ltd (“UOBAM”) from Singapore.
UOBAM(M) has 20 years’ experience in providing fund management services, for both institutional and retail clients. UOBAM(M) manages for unit trusts clients, corporate/institutional clients and insurance clients
Backed by UOBAM Group and the UOB Group’s strong regional network, UOBIAM will be able to attract the best breed of managers and to develop quality Islamic funds besides providing Shariah-compliant solutions and will also focus its efforts on raising awareness of Shariah compliant investing through promotion and education.
