Mr Wong Kim Choong (non-independent)
Mr Wong Kim Choong was appointed as Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd (“UOB Malaysia”) on 1 October 2012.  He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, Canada.  Mr Wong has 32 years of banking experience. He started his career with United Overseas Bank Limited (“UOB Limited”) in 1983, where he served for over 14 years.  During the 14 years with UOB Limited, Mr Wong held various management and senior positions in Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking.  He was transferred to UOB Malaysia in 1997 where he was appointed as Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking and subsequently as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2003.  In 2004, he was appointed as Director and Country Chief Executive Officer of United Overseas Bank (Thai) Public Company, a position he held until his appointment as Director and Chief Executive Officer of UOB Malaysia in October 2012.  

Mr Thio Boon Kiat (alternate to Mr Wong Kim Choong) (non-independent)
Mr Thio Boon Kiat is the chief executive officer of UOBAM. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (First Class Honours) degree from the National University of Singapore. In 2004, he attended the Investment Management Program at Harvard Business School. In 2006, he also attended the Mastering Alternative Investments programme by Insead University. Mr Thio has over 20 years of investment management experience. He joined UOBAM in 1994 from the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), as a portfolio manager managing Singapore, and subsequently Asia Pacific and global equity portfolios. Over the years, he also headed the International Equities and Global Technology teams. In 2004, Mr Thio was appointed as Chief Investment Officer of UOBAM, a position he held until 2011 when he was promoted to his current appointment of chief executive officer.

Ms Lim Suet Ling (non-independent)
Ms Lim Suet Ling is the chief executive officer and executive director of UOBAM(M). She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from the National University of Singapore in 1989 and is also a chartered financial analyst. She has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and has particular expertise in Malaysian and Asia ex-Japan equities.  Her mandates have been wide ranging with varying investment styles and focus. She has held senior positions including the Malaysia equity team head of UOB Asset Management Ltd and has been portfolio manager of several funds in both Malaysia and Singapore. She was promoted to executive director and chief executive officer of UOBAM(M) in 2005 to oversee the growth of the company. Ms Lim holds a capital markets and services representative's licence for the regulated activity of fund management.

Mr Khoo Chock Seang (non-independent)
Mr Khoo Chock Seang graduated with 2nd class upper honors degree in Economics from the University of Malaya in 1977. He joined UOB group in 1977 as a trainee officer and rose to the rank of branch manager in 1981. In 1987, Mr Khoo joined Pacific Bank Berhad as branch manager and rose to the rank of first vice president and head of retail banking in 1994 and became the director of Malaysian Trustees Berhad. Thereafter, Mr Khoo joined Malayan Banking Berhad in 2001 as assistant general manager and head of sales management. He became the head of consumer banking in Overseas Union Bank in Malaysia in June 2001. After the merger with UOBL, he became the head of sales and distribution of UOBL. He was appointed as director of UOBAM(M) in 2008. During the entire banking career, his job responsibilities cover branch management, commercial or corporate lending, trusteeship, retail banking, branch network & development, alternative channels, insurance, treasury and wealth management, sales management and sales distribution. 

Mr Seow Lun Hoo (non-independent)
Mr. Seow Lun Hoo is one of the directors and major shareholder of Newfields Investments Sdn Bhd and Newfields Holdings Sdn Bhd. He was previously the president and chief executive officer of Hong Leong Credit Bhd (now known as Hong Leong Financial Group Berhad), the financial services and property arm of the Hong Leong Group Malaysia. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Hong Leong Credit Bhd’s financial services business, both in Malaysia and Hong Kong. He retired from Hong Leong Credit Bhd in 1998 after 28 years of service. When he came out of retirement in 2001, he founded the Newfields group and was appointed as chief executive officer of Newfields Advisors Sdn Bhd since 2004. He is a capital market and services representative’s licence holder for regulated activity of advising on corporate finance. Mr. Seow obtained an associate ship and qualification from the Institute of Chartered Insurance, United Kingdom in 1970 and in 2008 became a Chartered Insurer.

Mr Seow Voon Ping (alternate to Mr Seow Lun Hoo) (non-independent)
Mr Seow Voon Ping has been with the Newfields Group since its inception in 2004. He is one of the Directors of Newfields Investments Sdn Bhd and Newfields Land Sdn Bhd (“Newfields Land”). His current areas of focus are managing business development of Newfields Land, and direct investments on behalf of the Newfields Group. Since 2005, he has spearheaded the growth of Newfields Land to become a prominent developer of commercial and residential real estate in and around Kuala Lumpur. Mr Seow Voon Ping holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from the London School of Economics, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Dato’ Dr Choong Tuck Yew (independent)
Dato’ Dr Choong was appointed to the board of directors of Poh Kong Holdings Berhad (“PKHB”) as an independent non-executive director on 13 January 2004. He was promoted to senior independent non-executive director in 2005. He holds a DComSc and a Master of Business Administration (MBA).  He is a chartered member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He is also a fellow of the Certified Practising Accountants Australia, a fellow of the Malaysian Association of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a fellow of the Chartered Taxation Institute of Malaysia, and a chartered fellow, as well as, a chartered audit committee director of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Malaysia. In the early years of his career, Dato’ Dr Choong worked as an accountant in several companies. In 1968, he joined Bank Negara Malaysia and, in 1987, he was appointed as the chief manager of the Bank Negara Malaysia. In 1990, he was seconded as the managing director of Visia Finance Berhad, a licensed finance company. Currently, Dato’ Dr Choong is the deputy chairman of C & C Investigation Services Sdn Bhd, a licensed private investigation company. His other business interests include directorship SCC Holdings Bhd. He has been a guest speaker at various conferences in Malaysia as well as abroad. Dato’ Dr Choong is the chairman of the audit committee and a member of the remuneration and nomination committee of PKHB.

Syed Naqiz Shahabuddin bin Syed Abdul Jabbar (independent)
Encik Naqiz has been practising law for more than 19 years and has acquired in-depth knowledge not only on legal intricacies but has also gained a solid knowledge-base on various industries ranging from finance, power, construction, automotive, defence, IT, telecommunications, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, FMCG and shipping/transport. He has represented and acted against some of the largest multinational companies, public listed companies, governmental and regulatory bodies as well as government linked companies. Encik Naqiz is also a senior partner of Naqiz & Partners. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 1997 from Australian National University in Australia.
